Who Makes It
Brutus Broth, sold as Brutus Bone Broth, is a US brand of bone broth meal toppers, broth powders, biscuits, frozen treats and goat milk for dogs. It was co-founded by sisters Sue Delegan and Kim Hehir. The company says its broths are human grade and fortified with glucosamine, chondroitin and turmeric for joint support. 1, 2, 3
Where It Is Made
The company's LinkedIn profile says its products are made in a USDA-approved facility in New York. A 2025 Cornell alumni profile says the broth is produced by a Minnesota-based manufacturer, which suggests the brand uses an outside manufacturer rather than its own plant. 4, 2
History
The brand traces its origin to Thanksgiving 2016, when Sue Delegan credited her dog Brutus's long life to bone broth. Brutus Broth was founded in 2017 and reached the market in 2019, then expanded into large chains such as Petco, PetSmart, Walmart and Target. In 2026 it added a line of broth and goat milk for cats. 3, 2, 5
Worth Knowing
Brutus Bone Broth ranked No. 373 on the 2023 Inc. 5000 list of fast-growing private companies. A third-party recall tracker reported in August 2026 that no FDA recalls were on record for the brand. 6
