1. Who we are

inthekibble.com (the “site”) is operated by In The Kibble (“we”, “us”). These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses the site. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. Not veterinary advice

Everything on the site is general information about dog food labels. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or recommends a food for a particular dog. Figures such as protein, fat, starch or calories describe a food, not how an individual dog will do on it. Always talk to a veterinarian about your dog’s diet, especially if your dog has a health condition, an allergy or a sensitivity.

If your dog is unwell or has eaten something harmful, contact your vet or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.

3. How accurate the data is

We transcribe guaranteed analyses and ingredient lists from what manufacturers publish, and we work to keep them right. Manufacturers change recipes, sometimes without changing the product name, so a page may not match the bag you bought. Where the two disagree, the bag is correct.

• Derived figures are ours. Dry matter values, the starch estimate and any comparison are calculated by us from the label. They are estimates, not laboratory results, and they are not the manufacturer’s figures.
• Flags are not verdicts. A flagged additive or a recall on record is information, not a finding that a food is unsafe.
• Recall data comes from the FDA. We match published notices to brands automatically. “No recall on record” means none is in our data, not that none exists.

If you find an error, please tell us. We check every report against the manufacturer’s label.

4. Affiliate links and prices

Some links to retailers are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. A commission never changes a figure, a flag or the order foods appear in. Prices and availability are set by the retailer, can change at any time, and are shown for convenience only.

5. Using our content

The text, figures, design and artwork on the site belong to In The Kibble unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to quote short passages and individual figures with a link back to the page they came from. The media kit explains how to cite our figures correctly. Please do not:

• copy or republish substantial parts of the site, or the database behind it;
• scrape or harvest the site with automated tools in a way that burdens it;
• present our derived figures as the manufacturer’s, or our flags as a safety rating;
• use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse a product.

Product names, brand names and packaging images belong to their owners and appear only to identify the food being described.

6. Things you send us

When you send a correction, a message or a recall tip, you let us use it to check and improve the site. We will not publish your name or email address. Recall alert sign-ups are covered by our privacy policy, and every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

7. Links to other sites

We link to manufacturers, retailers and the FDA. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

8. No warranty, and limits on liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty that the site or its data is complete, current or error free, and we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of it, including any decision about what to feed a dog. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the side of this page shows the last revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
