Who Makes It
Holistic Select is a dry and wet dog food brand owned by Wellness Pet Company, which also owns Wellness, Whimzees, Old Mother Hubbard, Eagle Pack and Sojos. The brand is known for its focus on digestive health, and the company says its recipes include probiotics, prebiotics and digestive enzymes. 1, 2, 3
Where It Is Made
The company says all Holistic Select dry recipes are made at its own company-owned facility in Mishawaka, Indiana. It says its wet recipes go through a quality and safety program but does not say where they are made. 4, 2
History
Holistic Select was launched in 2000 as a line from Eagle Pack, a pet food maker that started in 1970. Berwind Corporation bought Eagle Pack in 2007 and combined it with Wellness and Old Mother Hubbard to form WellPet. Clearlake Capital bought WellPet in November 2020, and the company was renamed Wellness Pet Company in 2022. 3
Worth Knowing
In March 2020, Wellness discontinued the Holistic Select cat food line, but not the dog food. Dog Food Advisor lists no Holistic Select recalls as of July 2026. 5, 6
