INABA marks 10 years of Churu in the U.S. with a Hollywood red carpet and Churu Meal
INABA celebrated a decade of Churu at the Dolby Theatre and launched Churu Meal, a complete and balanced lickable line sold only at Walmart.
A red carpet for pets in Hollywood
INABA Foods marked 10 years of its Churu treats in the United States by inviting the public to a free event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m. Owners and their pets can walk a Churu red carpet, take their own Hollywood photo and sample Churu products. The company announced the event on September 23 and named four pet accounts due to attend: @tacodechow, @sphynxcifer, @vaderthebordercollie and @ragdollrangers.
The anniversary is also a product launch. INABA used the event to introduce Churu Meal, a line it describes as complete and balanced meals for cats and dogs, sold only at Walmart. The day before the event, INABA’s YouTube channel posted a teaser titled “Cats & Dogs Are Taking Over the Hollywood Red Carpet!”
“For 10 years, cats, dogs and their people have welcomed Churu into their everyday moments,” said Stephanie Lundell, Director of Sales at INABA Foods USA. “We’re excited to build on the success of our high-quality treat program by expanding into complete and balanced meals.”

Watch on YouTubeWhat Churu Meal is for dogs
For dogs, Churu Meal is the creamy, lickable purée Churu is known for, sold in tubes. Walmart lists 0.5 ounce tubes in 24-tube boxes and larger 1.69 ounce tubes, in recipes such as Chicken, Chicken with Cheese, Chicken with Salmon, Chicken with Beef, Chicken with Pumpkin and Tuna with Beef. The Walmart listings call it “Complete & Balanced” and say it can be fed as a food or added as a topper. The package name says Meal Topper.
We have five dog Churu Meal recipes in our catalog, read from their labels. They share one guaranteed analysis: 7% protein, 3.5% fat and 85% moisture. Water is the first ingredient in all five, followed by chicken or tuna, and every one lists tapioca starch. The stated calorie content is 780 kcal per kilogram.
Complete and balanced, in tubes
“Complete and balanced” is a statement about the nutrient profile: a food that carries it supplies every required nutrient in the right proportions when it is fed as the whole diet. It does not say how much of the food that takes.

At 780 kcal per kilogram, a 0.5 ounce tube holds about 11 kcal, which matches the figure Walmart gives. A 1.69 ounce tube holds about 37 kcal. Our feeding calculator puts a typical, moderately active 10 lb adult dog at about 348 kcal a day, and a 50 lb dog at about 1,165 kcal. Fed as the whole diet, that works out to roughly 31 small tubes or 9 large tubes a day for the 10 lb dog, and about 105 small tubes or 31 large tubes for the 50 lb dog.
So the realistic use for most dogs is the one on the box: a topper. One small tube adds about 11 kcal and a lot of water to a bowl. Because it is complete and balanced, it adds nutrients in proportion rather than just flavor. Count it in the day’s calories all the same.
Why it matters
Churu built its name as a treat. Putting the same lickable format under a complete and balanced claim turns it into something owners can add to the bowl every day, not only hand out as a reward. Selling it only at Walmart puts it next to everyday kibble rather than in specialty stores.
INABA was founded in 1958 and says its products are made with real chicken and wild-caught tuna, are grain-free, and contain no preservatives or artificial colors. Churu is sold at Amazon, Chewy, Petco, Walmart, Target and PetSmart, with Churu Meal at Walmart only.
