Five older Halo Holistic dog foods are missing from the current lineup

What we found

We checked Halo’s current Holistic dog food lineup on September 28, 2026. Four dry foods we have reviewed no longer appear there: Halo Adult Dog Holistic Chicken & Chicken Liver Recipe, Halo Adult Grain-Free Holistic Surf & Turf Recipe, Halo Senior Grain-Free Holistic Turkey, Turkey Liver & Duck Recipe, and Halo Small Breed Adult Grain-Free Holistic Game Bird Medley. Our reviews for each remain available and list foods owners can compare with them.

The fifth food, Halo Small Breed Adult Holistic Chicken & Chicken Liver Recipe, is marked as replaced in our review. Halo currently has a product page for Holistic Cage-Free Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe Small Breed Dry Dog Food. We have not found a Halo announcement giving a discontinuation date for the other four recipes. Their absence from the brand’s lineup does not establish when stores stopped carrying them or whether remaining bags are still on shelves.

What is different

The current small breed product is a dry food with chicken and brown rice in its name. Halo’s ingredient list starts with deboned chicken, brown rice, peas and pork. Its page describes smaller kibble for small breed dogs and says the recipe is formulated for adult maintenance. Owners who fed the older Chicken & Chicken Liver product should read the current bag instead of relying on the familiar Halo Holistic name.

The four recipes missing from Halo’s lineup served different needs by label: adult Chicken & Chicken Liver, grain-free adult Surf & Turf, grain-free senior Turkey, Turkey Liver & Duck, and grain-free small breed Game Bird Medley. A food with a similar protein name may have a different grain content, life stage statement or calorie count. Halo’s current lineup alone does not identify a direct replacement for each of those four.

What owners should check

Start with the complete recipe name on the bag, including words such as grain-free, senior and small breed. Then compare the ingredient list, guaranteed analysis, calories per cup and nutritional adequacy statement with the food your dog has been eating. Those details matter more than a similar package or flavor name, particularly if you are following a veterinarian’s feeding plan.

If your usual bag is still available at a retailer, check its exact label and date rather than assuming that a listing reflects Halo’s current range. Availability can vary by store, and we cannot establish from Halo’s lineup when any remaining stock will run out.
