What is In The Kibble?
In The Kibble is an independent dog food review site. We read 3,000+ dry, wet and fresh dog foods straight off the label, so you can see what is actually in the kibble and compare any two bags on the same basis.
Label data, laid out so it is easy to read.
Dog food reviews
Every review starts from the manufacturer's own label: protein, fat, fiber, moisture, calories and the full ingredient list, copied as printed. From those figures we estimate the starch, which no bag prints.
Browse the reviewsSide by side comparisons
Pick any two foods and see them on the same basis, with kibble compared to kibble and wet to wet, so the numbers mean the same thing on both sides.

What each ingredient is, why it turns up in dog food, and how many of the foods we cover use it.

Plain answers for the foods in your kitchen: safe, in moderation or never, with the reason in one line.
Check a foodThe bag says a lot. It is just hard to read.
Every bag of dog food carries the same few facts: a guaranteed analysis, a calorie figure and an ingredient list, heaviest first. They are printed small, measured with the water still in, and almost impossible to compare across two shelves. In The Kibble puts those facts for every food in one place, in one format, and does the arithmetic for you. We publish figures and the reasoning behind them, not veterinary advice.
- Is In The Kibble a dog food brand?
- No. In The Kibble does not make or sell dog food. It is a review site that reads the labels of the foods other companies make.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- From the manufacturer's published label and ingredient list. If a figure on a page does not match the bag in your hand, the report form on that page sends it straight to us, and we check it against the brand's current label before anything changes.
- Do brands pay to be reviewed or ranked?
- No. Some retailer links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when someone buys through them. Links are attached after a food's figures are worked out, and they never change a figure or the order of a list.
- Is it InTheKibble or In The Kibble?
- Either finds us. The name is In The Kibble, and the address is inthekibble.com.
