Fromm recalls specific lots of two canned dog foods over possible metal

What happened

Fromm Family Foods announced a voluntary recall on August 21, 2026, after receiving complaints of metal contamination. It covers 3,852 cases of Turkey Pâté Wet Dog Food and 1,973 cases of Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté Wet Dog Food. The affected cans went to neighborhood pet stores and online outlets in the United States and Canada. Fromm said in its announcement that it had received no reports of illness or injury related to these products at that time.

This is a recall of specified lots, not an announced recipe change. Fromm says no other Fromm products are affected. The company says it identified the error and put corrective actions in place, but its notice does not explain how metal could have entered the food.

Which cans are affected

The recalled Turkey Pâté is a 12.2-ounce can with UPC 072705118700, lot code EP2A3306 551006, and Best By 032029. The recalled Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté is a 12.5-ounce can with UPC 072705132324, lot code EP2A3306 551029, and the same Best By 032029. Check the can and any case packaging for the full product name, UPC, lot code, and date. The recipe name alone does not establish that a can is part of the recall.

Both foods are wet pâtés. Fromm describes Turkey Pâté as turkey cooked with barley, potatoes, and carrots; Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté contains pork and beef with potatoes and carrots. They belong to different Fromm lines, which makes the exact name and code especially useful when checking cans stored together.

What it means for Fromm owners

Owners feeding either named recipe should check their supply, including unopened cans bought online or as part of a case. Fromm warns that dogs that ingest metal may show choking, vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or stomach discomfort. Sharp pieces can cause serious injury. If your dog ate food from an affected can and shows any of those signs, contact your veterinarian. Keep the can or a clear photo of its codes so you can tell the veterinarian and retailer exactly which product your dog ate.
