Solid Gold launches three-part dehydrated meal kit for dogs
The kit pairs a chicken dehydrated meal with bone broth and SeaMeal powders for a three-step feeding routine.
What Solid Gold launched
Solid Gold has introduced its 3-in-1 Dehydrated Complete Meal Kit for Dogs. Pet Food Processing reported the launch on September 3. The kit combines Solid Gold Dehydrated Meal, Bone Broth Powder and SeaMeal Pre & Probiotic Powder. Solid Gold presents them as a routine: add water to the meal, mix in the broth powder and add the SeaMeal powder.
This is a dog food launch, rather than a promotion. Solid Gold says the combination supports hydration, gut health and overall well-being. Those are the brand’s claims, not a reason to expect a particular result for an individual dog.
What is in the kit
Solid Gold’s product page lists one chicken flavor. The dehydrated meal comes in a choice of 1-, 3- or 6-pound sizes, while each kit includes 1 ounce of bone broth powder and 1 ounce of SeaMeal powder. The brand lists chicken and chicken meal first in the meal’s ingredients, followed by ground flaxseed, pumpkin, oats and carrots. Barley, peas and salmon oil also appear on the list.
The broth powder lists chicken bone broth as its ingredient. SeaMeal’s list starts with dried seaweed meal and ground flaxseed, and also includes fermentation products, animal plasma and fructooligosaccharide. Solid Gold says the powders support digestion and other aspects of wellness. The dehydrated format needs water but, according to the trade report, no cooking or refrigeration.
What it means for current Solid Gold feeders
The kit gives owners a different format and preparation routine from a bag of dry food. Solid Gold describes the dehydrated meal as complete and balanced. It presents the broth and SeaMeal powders as additions to that meal, not as complete foods on their own. Owners feeding another Solid Gold recipe can compare its ingredients and calories with the kit before changing portions.
Our reviews cover 34 Solid Gold foods, but we have not reviewed any of the four named products in this launch. The kit is listed for sale on Solid Gold’s site. We could not establish from the pages checked which other US retailers stock this particular kit.
What to check on the package
Check the nutritional adequacy statement on the dehydrated meal for the life stage it is intended to feed. The product page calls the meal complete and balanced but does not clearly identify a life stage for this kit. Also check the feeding directions, water amount and calories per serving when comparing it with your dog’s current food.
Read each component’s ingredient list if your dog avoids a particular ingredient. The chicken meal list includes oats and barley, even though a general “Grain & Gluten Free” badge appears elsewhere on the product page. The package label is the place to verify the specific recipe in hand.
