The Honest Kitchen adds three slow cooked jerky chews for dogs
The brand has introduced beef, chicken and salmon jerky treats, each made with four listed ingredients.
What launched
The Honest Kitchen announced Slow Cooked Jerky Chews on June 10, 2026, adding a tender jerky format to its dog treat lineup. The three recipes are Ranch Raised Beef, Cage Free Chicken and Wild Caught Salmon. The brand says the chews are slow cooked and designed for a medium chew time. How long one lasts will depend on the dog.
The brand listed the treats at $16.99 and said they were available through its website, Amazon, Chewy and independent pet retailers. A live Chewy listing confirms the beef version is offered there. Pet Food Processing also reported the launch.
What is in the chews
Each recipe has four listed ingredients. The beef version contains beef, coconut glycerin, potato and salt. Chicken breast takes the place of beef in the chicken version. The salmon version lists salmon, potato, coconut glycerin and salt. The brand says the recipes contain no wheat or soy and meet its human grade standards.
These are treats, not a new meal recipe. The beef listing’s feeding direction says to give them as a treat or reward. The brand’s product pages list 58 calories per beef treat, 42 per chicken treat and 44 per salmon treat. Those figures give owners a way to account for jerky alongside the rest of a dog’s daily food.
What it means if your dog eats this brand
Owners feeding The Honest Kitchen food now have another treat option from the same brand, with a choice of three animal proteins. The launch does not establish a change to any existing food recipe. Our reviews cover 18 Honest Kitchen foods; these new chews are separate products and are not among the foods we review.
A short ingredient list is useful to read, but it does not make the flavors interchangeable for every dog. Owners avoiding a particular protein should check the exact recipe on the pouch. The brand describes the texture as tender, so owners should also judge the piece size and chewing time for their own dog.
What to check on the bag
Check the ingredient list, calories per treat and net weight on the pouch you have. The June announcement described a $16.99, 6 ounce bag, but the brand’s product information and a Chewy listing show different weights by flavor: 5.6 ounces for beef, 6 ounces for chicken and 5.4 ounces for salmon. The listed price is the same across the brand’s three product pages.
Also read the full ingredient panel even if a retailer’s short description sounds simpler. Chewy’s beef page describes the treat as made with one ingredient in one section, while the ingredient panel on that same page lists four. The ingredient panel is the more useful place to check what is in the treat.
